Healthy Protein Bars

1 cup of almond butter

1 cup honey (you can use a little less for less sweetness)

 3 cups of old fashioned oats

1/2 cup wheat germ (could substitute flax meal)

1/2 cup unsweetened shredded coconut

2-3 large scoops of whey protein powder

1/4 cup of raw unsalted sunflower seeds

1/4 cup of raw unsalted pepita seeds (optional)

In saucepan melt almond butter and honey together over medium high heat. In another bowl combine the rest of ingredients. Mix all ingredients together. If mixture is too dry and crumbly you may need more almond butter or honey. Line 9x13 cake pan with wax paper. Pour mixture into pan, use firm pressure to flatten and evenly distribute mixture. Put in freezer one hour and then remove and cut into small bars. Can keep these wrapped in freezer in a Ziploc bag. Enjoy before your next exercise!
